  • Beskrivelse: Young people from all republics of the USSR meet Kaunas. The delegation visits Kaunas A.Šiaučiūnaitės name knitting factory. The participants visit Kaunas Silk - plush factory workshops. The young people visit Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant and collective farm “Gintaras” ("Amber") located near to the Plant. Collective farmers warmly welcome the guests. Guests perform to farmers, then all together visit farm holdings. Milkmaid Aldona Uleckaitė entertains the guests to new milk. Guests from the Caucasus taste homemade apple wine made by gardener Antanas Vaikauskas. The guests in steamer in Kaunas Lagoon. Near the Kaunas Lagoon Youth Camp was established. Here guests from the Soviet Republics have a vacation in nature. Lithuanian Comsomol Central Committee Secretary Aleksandras Česnavičius visit the Youth Camp. There is ethnic meals presentation and a party. A massive youth rally for peace and friendship of nations takes place in Kaunas. Youth delegation visit Kaunas IX – fort. A former underground movement participant Povilas Štaras talks about the underground activities during the World War II. Festival of young people from all republics of the USSR begins. A fire of Friendship starts to burn. Kaunas Communist Party Committee Secretary Julius Mikalauskas welcomes the participants of the festival. There is the show of national folk groups.
